COURSE

EcoDiver Course

Coral Reefs are a valuable economic and ecological resource, providing food and jobs to millions of people around the world. Sadly, coral reefs are threatened by a variety of human-induced impacts including over-fishing, tourism development and pollution. During a Reef Check survey dive is very different from doing a normal leisure dive. Survey diving requires not only high level of concentration & discipline but also good dive skills to avoid damaging the reef and to collect good data. The Reef Check survey methodology is a coral reef monitoring tool that provides such material. It was specially designed to be used by non-scientists to collect data on the health of coral reefs, thus assisting managers in coral conservation activities. If you are an experienced Certified Diver with a keen eye and an interest in conservation, then the EcoDiver Course is for you!
